Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Porter to join our dynamic team in a fast-paced kitchen environment. As a Kitchen Porter, you will play a crucial role in supporting our team of chefs by ensuring that the kitchen is clean, organised, and fully equipped for food preparation. This position is ideal for individuals looking to gain experience in the hospitality industry, particularly within hotels and restaurants.

Duties

Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen and food preparation areas
Wash and sanitise kitchen utensils, equipment, and dishes to ensure hygiene standards are met
Assist with the storage of food items and ensure proper stock rotation
Support the culinary team during busy service periods by providing assistance where needed
Dispose of waste appropriately and maintain recycling protocols
Ensure that all health and safety regulations are adhered to at all times

Skills

Understanding of food hygiene practices
Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a busy hospitality environment
Strong organisational skills with good attention to detail
A proactive attitude with the ability to multitask under pressure
Good communication skills to liaise with kitchen staff and management

Schedule
This role is offered on a zero-hours contract. Working hours will vary and shifts will be scheduled across a seven-day rota; therefore, flexibility and weekend availability are essential.
