Full job description

Role Overview

Jones Site Services Ltd is seeking a reliable and organised Store Person to manage materials, stock, and equipment within our yard/store environment. This is a self employed position ideally suited to someone with previous experience in a similar role within construction or site services.

You will play a key role in ensuring that all materials and equipment are accurately recorded, stored safely, and readily available to support operational activities.

Key Responsibilities

Receive, check, and record deliveries of materials, tools, and equipment
Maintain accurate stock records and inventory levels
Issue materials and equipment to site operatives as required
Ensure all goods are stored safely, securely, and in an organised manner
Conduct regular stock checks and report discrepancies
Liaise with suppliers and internal teams regarding stock levels and orders
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the stores/yard area
Monitor and report damaged or faulty equipment
Support logistics and coordination of materials going to and from site
Adhere to health & safety guidelines at all times

Skills & Experience Required

Previous experience in a stores, warehouse, or site based role
Experience working within construction, engineering, or site services environments
Good organisational and time management skills
Basic computer literacy including Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word
Ability to maintain accurate records and attention to detail
Strong communication skills
Ability to work independently and manage workload
Physically fit and capable of manual handling tasks

Skills & Experience Desirable

Forklift licence (counterbalance or reach)
Knowledge of plant, tools, or construction materials
Experience using stock management systems

Self-Employed Requirements

Must be registered as self-employed
Responsible for own tax and National Insurance contributions
Able to invoice the company in line with agreed payment terms

Working Hours

Typically Monday to Friday (hours to be agreed). Flexibility may be required depending on business needs.

Pay: £12.71-£15.00 per hour
