Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Registered Manager to oversee the daily operations of our healthcare facility specialising in Children care, assisted living, and specialised support for Children with disabilities. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality Child care, managing staff, and maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a dedicated professional with extensive management experience in medical or care settings to lead a compassionate team committed to exceptional service delivery.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Registered Manager to lead a new Children's Residential Home in Birmingham supporting up to two children aged 8–17 years.

This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated professional to play a key role in establishing and developing a high-quality home that delivers outstanding care and positive outcomes for children and young people.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the home, ensuring compliance with Ofsted regulations and maintaining the highest standards of safeguarding, care, and support.

Key Responsibilities

Register with Ofsted as the Registered Manager.
Lead and manage the children's home in accordance with Children's Homes Regulations 2015 and Quality Standards.
Develop and maintain a positive, nurturing, and child-centred culture.
Recruit, supervise, train, and develop staff.
Ensure robust safeguarding practices are implemented at all times.
Manage care planning, risk assessments, and placement matching.
Maintain compliance with Ofsted requirements and statutory regulations.
Monitor and improve service quality through audits and quality assurance processes.
Build positive relationships with local authorities, social workers, families, and external professionals.
Manage budgets and resources effectively.

Essential Requirements

Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
Minimum 2 years' experience within the last 5 years in a residential childcare setting at a senior level.
Strong knowledge of Ofsted registration requirements.
Experience of Children's Homes Regulations 2015 and Quality Standards.
Experience in opening or supporting the registration of a children's home is highly desirable.
Excellent leadership and organisational skills.
Full UK Driving Licence.
Enhanced DBS check.

Desirable

Previous experience successfully registering a new children's home with Ofsted.
Experience achieving Good or Outstanding Ofsted ratings.
Strong understanding of safeguarding and compliance requirements.
