Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Operations Manager to oversee daily business activities and ensure operational excellence across our organisation. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, exceptional organisational abilities, and a proven track record in management. This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead diverse teams, optimise processes, and contribute to the company's growth. Responsibilities

Manage the day-to-day operations of the office, ensuring efficient administration and smooth business processes.
Handle customer enquiries and maintain professional communication with clients, providing excellent customer service at all times.
Prepare quotations, follow up opportunities, and support business development activities.
Raise invoices and manage general administrative tasks in a timely and accurate manner.
Coordinate engineers' workloads, scheduling, and resource allocation to ensure efficient service delivery.
Manage water sample administration, including laboratory submissions and tracking of results.
Review engineer reports and paperwork for accuracy, completeness, and compliance prior to issuing to clients.
Support purchasing activities, including raising purchase orders and liaising with suppliers.
Assist with accounts administration and provide information and documentation required by external accountants.
Monitor and manage jobs from initial enquiry through to completion, ensuring deadlines and client expectations are met.
Maintain company records, databases, and operational systems to support business efficiency and compliance.
Provide general support to the management team and contribute to the continuous improvement of business processes.

Experience

Previous experience in an operations, office management, or business administration role.
Excellent attention to detail with a high level of accuracy in administrative tasks and documentation.
Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise workloads effectively.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Capable of working independently and using initiative with minimal supervision.
Experience preparing quotations, raising invoices, and delivering high levels of customer service.
Strong IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and business management systems.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to build positive relationships with clients, suppliers, and colleagues.
Problem-solving mindset with the ability to identify issues and implement practical solutions.
Professional, reliable, and adaptable approach to work.

We are looking for someone who takes ownership of their responsibilities and sees tasks through to completion. This is a key role within the business and requires an individual who can work proactively, manage their workload effectively, and make informed day-to-day decisions with confidence.

The successful candidate will be highly organised, self-motivated, and capable of working independently without the need for constant supervision or direction. They will be comfortable managing multiple priorities, solving problems as they arise, and ensuring that commitments are followed through to a high standard.

A positive attitude, strong sense of accountability, and willingness to take initiative are essential for success in this role.

Pay: £35,000.00-£45,000.00 per year
