Full job description

Eventus Recruitment are seeking a Property Assistant to join a highly regarded Legal 500 firm in Blackburn on a full-time, permanent basis. This Commercial Property Assistant job in Blackburn offers a salary of £25,000 to £28,000 depending on experience, with a hybrid working pattern of four days in the office and one day from home. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing Blackburn-based team with a strong pipeline of secured lending work, offering long-term progression, varied exposure and a collaborative working culture.

About the Job

This Property Assistant job will see you supporting an experienced property team with a particular focus on secure lending transactions, alongside wider property matters. You will play a key role in ensuring files progress smoothly from instruction through to completion and post-completion, giving you exposure to the full lifecycle of transactions. The job offers variety, responsibility and the chance to develop within a busy and expanding team driven by continued growth and new work wins.

Key responsibilities include:

Acting as a central support to fee earners to progress secure lending and property transactions efficiently
Managing post-completion processes including submissions and ensuring matters are concluded accurately
Coordinating file opening and onboarding processes to ensure compliance from the outset
Liaising with clients, lenders and third parties to obtain key information and maintain file progression
Preparing legal documentation and completion-related paperwork to support transactions
Supporting compliance requirements including ID checks and source of funds verification
Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records on case management systems
Handling client enquiries and delivering a high standard of client service
Providing general administrative support to ensure the smooth running of the department

About You

This role is ideal for someone with prior experience in a conveyancing support position who is confident working within a fast-paced property team. You will be keen to build on your existing knowledge, particularly within secure lending and post-completion work, and take pride in delivering a high standard of support.

You’ll also be able to demonstrate the following:

Previous experience as a Conveyancing Assistant, Legal Assistant or Legal Secretary within a residential or commercial property team
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities effectively
A proactive approach with the confidence to take initiative and anticipate team needs
Competence using case management systems and general IT packages
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy across all aspects of work
Clear and professional communication skills with clients and colleagues
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately
Positive and collaborative attitude with a willingness to learn and develop
