Overview

We are seeking a professional and reliable HGV Class 2 Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient delivery of goods, primarily using grab lorries, across designated routes. The position is full-time and involves working on a variety of delivery routes, ensuring timely and secure transportation of materials.

Duties

Operate HGV Class 2 grab lorries in compliance with all road safety regulations and company policies
Load and unload goods safely, ensuring proper securing of cargo during transit
Conduct daily vehicle checks, including inspections of brakes, tyres, lights, and load security equipment
Plan routes efficiently to meet delivery schedules and optimise fuel consumption
Deliver goods to various locations in a professional manner, maintaining excellent customer service standards
Complete all necessary paperwork accurately, including delivery notes and vehicle logs
Report any vehicle issues or accidents promptly to management
Assist with loading or unloading when required, adhering to health and safety guidelines

Qualifications

Valid HGV Class 2 licence with a clean driving record
Proven experience as a commercial driver, preferably with grab or tipper lorrys
Delivery driver experience is highly desirable
Knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices in commercial driving
Ability to operate grab lorries safely and securely
Good organisational skills with the ability to plan routes effectively
Strong communication skills and professional attitude towards customers and colleagues
Physical fitness to handle loading/unloading tasks and long hours on the road
