We are now investing heavily in the development of Motorly, our growing automotive platform, with ambitions to build a more engaging automotive ecosystem for consumers through innovative technology, customer journeys and value-added services.
As our customer database continues to grow, we are looking for an ambitious CRM & Lifecycle Marketing Manager to unlock greater value from our data assets, improve customer engagement and create new revenue opportunities.
The Opportunity
This is not a role for someone who wants to send newsletters.
We are looking for someone who wants to take ownership of a rapidly growing customer database, build sophisticated customer journeys and play a direct role in generating new revenue streams across our automotive and consumer brands.
You will work directly with senior leadership to develop customer engagement and monetisation strategies across a growing portfolio of products and brands. For the right individual, this role offers significant scope for progression as the business expands.
The Role
You will be responsible for developing and executing customer lifecycle strategies across email, SMS and other communication channels, with the primary objective of maximising engagement, retention and commercial value from our growing database.
You will play a key role in helping transform our business from a lead generation company into a customer-focused platform business.
This role reports to the Head of Marketing Operations. You will work closely with the Head of Digital and the development team on automation, integrations and customer data projects.
This is an individual contributor role, with the expectation that as the function grows, there will be opportunity to build and lead a team.
Products and Services
You will work across our growing portfolio of brands and products. Current and planned products include:
- Motorly (automotive platform): Car Finance, Vehicle Valuations, MOT Reminders and Booking, Breakdown Cover, Vehicle Warranties, Car Insurance, Automotive Comparison Services
- My Local Will Writer (will writing and legal services)
- Switchi (broadband and energy comparison)
- Future consumer financial services and lead generation products
Key ResponsibilitiesStrategy and Automation
- Design and build automated customer journeys across the full lifecycle.
- Develop segmentation strategies that enable personalised, behaviour-driven communications.
- Build nurture, retention and reactivation programmes across the database.
- Identify and test new lifecycle opportunities as products and services are added to the portfolio.
Revenue Generation
- Take ownership of database monetisation across our portfolio of brands.
- Develop cross-sell and upsell opportunities across automotive and consumer products.
- Work with senior leadership to identify and test new revenue streams.
- Track and report on commercial performance of all lifecycle activity.
Campaign Execution
- Plan and deliver email and SMS campaigns in support of the above strategies.
- Coordinate with internal creative and development teams.
- Develop and manage testing frameworks across messaging, offers and customer journeys.
Data and Reporting
- Analyse customer behaviour and campaign performance.
- Build reports and dashboards to support commercial decision making.
- Monitor engagement, retention and revenue metrics.
- Make data-led recommendations and track campaign profitability.
Technology
We work across a growing marketing technology stack. Experience with some or all of the following is advantageous:
- Mailchimp and SendGrid for outbound email marketing – we are open to evolving our email stack and would welcome input from the right candidate on the best tools for where the business is heading
- LeadByte for lead management and customer data distribution
- Meta Ads and Google Ads – an understanding of paid acquisition and how it connects to lifecycle marketing is beneficial

What We're Looking ForEssential
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in CRM, email marketing or lifecycle marketing.
- Strong commercial mindset with a clear focus on driving measurable results.
- A self-starter who takes ownership through to delivery, building and running customer journeys rather than only scoping or recommending them for others to implement.
- Experience using marketing automation platforms.
- Excellent written communication and copywriting skills.
- Strong analytical and reporting abilities.
- Comfortable working with customer data and segmentation.
- Working knowledge of GDPR as it applies to CRM and lifecycle marketing – including consent, legitimate interest, suppression lists, data retention and preference centres.
Desirable
- Experience within lead generation, automotive, finance, insurance or consumer services.
- Experience with SMS and WhatsApp marketing.
- Experience with CRM systems and customer databases.
- Understanding of digital marketing and customer acquisition.
No automotive experience is required. We welcome applications from candidates who have worked in sectors such as e-commerce, subscription businesses, travel, fintech, retail or other data-rich, customer-focused industries.
What Success Looks Like
Within your first 12 months, you will:
- Build and optimise customer journeys across our automotive and consumer brands.
- Increase revenue generated from our existing customer databases.
- Improve customer engagement and retention metrics.
- Launch new automated lifecycle campaigns.
- Identify and test new monetisation opportunities.
- Help establish CRM as a significant and measurable revenue-generating channel within the business.
