Full job description

Job Overview
Due to further expansion; we are seeking skilled Mechanics to join our team. The ideal candidate(s) will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining Heavy Goods vehicles, trailers, vans and equipment. This role requires a strong understanding of vehicle safety and systems and the ability to work efficiently under pressure and at times autonomously.

The shift pattern is to be 4 on, 4 off. Start time 6.30am working until 6pm.

Responsibilities

Conduct thorough inspections of vehicles and equipment to identify issues and determine necessary repairs.
Perform routine maintenance tasks, including oil changes, brake checks, and tyre rotations.
Diagnose mechanical problems using diagnostic tools and equipment.
Repair or replace faulty parts, components, or systems as needed.
Maintain accurate records of all repairs and maintenance performed.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards in the workshop.
Sourcing parts when required.
Collaborate with other team members to improve processes and enhance service quality.
Ensure paperwork is completed in a timely manner and logged onto the computer systems.

Skills

Proficient in using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues effectively.
Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet industry standards.
Good communication skills for effective collaboration with team members and customers.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Previous experience in a similar role is advantageous but not essential; relevant qualifications will be considered an asset.
Driving Licence, with own car. HGV Class 1/2 is desirable.
