Location: Dean Clough Mills, Halifax (Hybrid)
Salary: £28,000–£30,000 per year
Job Type: Permanent | Full Time (40 hours per week)
Looking for a role where you can combine people skills with problem solving?
If you’re someone who enjoys building great customer relationships, loves getting into the detail and takes pride in solving problems, we’d love to hear from you.
At EMS, we don’t manufacture products. We help some of the world’s biggest brands keep their products moving.
Working with customers including Coca-Cola, Carlsberg Britvic, Danone, Kenvue and Nivea, we manage millions of pieces of returnable equipment that keep supply chains running across the UK, Ireland, Europe and North America.
It’s not something most people ever think about; but it’s essential.
From our offices in Halifax and Belfast we provide specialist equipment management solutions that keep supply chains moving efficiently. As our business continues to grow, we’re looking for another Client Operations Executive to join our Halifax team.
Before you apply…
This role combines customer relationship management with detailed operational and analytical work. You’ll spend a significant part of your week working with data, investigating discrepancies, analysing data and producing reports.
If you enjoy solving problems, spotting patterns in data and getting the details right, you’ll likely thrive in this role. If you’re looking for a general customer service or sales position, this probably isn’t the right fit.
Please note: We are not able to offer visa sponsorship for this position. Applicants must already have the legal right to work in the UK for the duration of their employment.
What you’ll be doing
You’ll become the trusted day to day contact for a portfolio of customers, ensuring everything runs smoothly behind the scenes and delivering the high standard of service EMS is known for.
A typical week could include:
· Managing customer equipment orders and operational activity
· Producing reports and analysing customer data using Excel and internal systems
· Reconciling invoices and investigating discrepancies
· Creating KPI reports and dashboards that help customers understand their performance
· Working with customers and suppliers to resolve operational issues quickly and professionally
· Identifying trends, risks and opportunities within customer data
· Suggesting improvements to processes, reporting and ways of working
· Collaborating with colleagues across Halifax and Belfast to deliver outstanding customer service
You’ll be trusted to manage your own portfolio of accounts, build long term relationships and become someone your customers know they can rely on.
What makes this role different?
This isn’t a sales role.
It’s about becoming a trusted partner to your customers.
You’ll combine analytical thinking with relationship management, helping customers solve problems, improve performance and keep their operations moving.
You’ll have real ownership of your accounts, the opportunity to improve how we work and the chance to develop within a growing international business.
You’ll enjoy this role if…
· You genuinely enjoy working with Excel and data.
· You like solving problems rather than simply passing them on.
· You notice the small details that others miss.
· You enjoy building long term relationships with customers.
· You stay organised when managing multiple priorities.
· You like improving processes and finding smarter ways of working.
· You enjoy working as part of a supportive team where everyone contributes.
This role probably isn’t for you if…
· You’re looking for a sales or business development role.
· You don’t enjoy working with spreadsheets and data.
· You dislike detailed administrative work.
· You prefer repetitive tasks rather than solving new problems.
· You want every day to be exactly the same.
What we’re looking for
We’re interested in finding the right person as much as the right experience. You’ll ideally have:
· Experience managing customer or client relationships in a professional environment.
· Strong Excel/data skills (essential). You should be confident using formulas, Pivot Tables and lookup functions to analyse and reconcile data.
· Excellent organisational and time management skills.
· High attention to detail and accuracy.
· Strong written and verbal communication skills.
· A proactive, analytical approach to problem solving.
· The confidence to manage multiple priorities while maintaining excellent customer service.
Experience in logistics, supply chain, accounts, bookkeeping or data analysis would be an advantage but isn’t essential.
What you’ll get
· Salary of £28,000–£30,000 depending on experience.
· Hybrid working.
· Company pension.
· Private Healthcare after successfully completing probation.
· Free onsite parking.
· Casual dress.
· Structured training and ongoing development.
· The opportunity to work with globally recognised brands.
· A supportive and collaborative team environment.
· Genuine opportunities to develop your career as EMS continues to grow.
