Full job description

Up to £14 per hour | 18-25 hours per week (flexible) | Immediate Start Available

The Argyle Arms is an independent neighbourhood pub in Brighton, voted Best Pub in East Sussex at the National Pub & Bar Awards 2025.

No split shifts. Monday & Tuesday kitchen closed (2 set days off as minimum).

Our food is centred around low & slow barbecue, inspired by Texas smokehouses and barbecue specials from around the world. Our kitchen staff do not need experience in this field.

We're looking for a reliable and motivated kitchen assistant to join our small kitchen team. No barbecue experience is required, just a good attitude, strong work ethic and a passion for food.

The Role

Food prep, sauces, sides & garnishes
Supporting service in a small, friendly team
Stock rotation, organisation & stock counts
Maintaining excellent food safety, cleanliness & hygiene standards
Pot wash through service

What We're Looking For

At least 1 year of professional kitchen experience
Reliable, organised and hardworking
Good presentation, personal hygiene and attention to detail
Comfortable working evenings and weekends
Food Safety (preferred but not essentia)

Up to £14 per hour (age dependent)
18-25 flexible hours per week (you can set a preference between these hours if you have one)

Mon & Tues: Closed
Weds & Thurs: 5pm–9pm
Fri: 3pm–9pm
Sat: 1pm–9pm
Sun: 12pm–5pm
