Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organised and professional School Administrator & Receptionist to join Mayfield Chestnut. This vital role involves managing front desk operations, providing administrative support, and ensuring the smooth day-to-day functioning of the school. The successful candidate will possess excellent communication skills, be proficient in various computer applications, and demonstrate a friendly yet efficient approach to handling enquiries and administrative tasks. This paid position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to a dynamic educational environment while developing your professional skills.

Responsibilities

Welcome visitors, parents, and students with a courteous and professional demeanour at the reception area
Answer phone calls promptly, maintaining excellent phone etiquette
Manage appointments, schedules, and student enrolments using organisational tools and software
Perform data entry tasks accurately into systems such as Microsoft Office, Teams, SIMS and ParentPay
Maintain filing systems and organise school documents efficiently
Assist with general administrative duties including photocopying, scanning, and email correspondence
Support the organisation of school events and meetings as required
Handle incoming enquiries via email and in person with professionalism and clarity
Ensure the reception area remains tidy, welcoming, and well-stocked with necessary materials

Experience

Previous office experience or administrative role within an educational or similar environment is preferred
Proficiency in computer skills including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
Experience with data entry and clerical duties demonstrating attention to detail
Excellent phone etiquette coupled with friendly interpersonal skills

This role offers an engaging environment where organisational excellence and communication are valued. The ideal candidate will be proactive, adaptable, and eager to support the school's operational success while fostering a welcoming atmosphere for all visitors.

This role will be from 8.45 am to 3.15 pm, Monday - Friday, Term time only. 30 hours per week. The actual salary for this working pattern is £18,124.90
