About Changing Lives through Changing Minds

Changing Lives through Changing Minds is a growing charity for young people based at Manor Farm in Coleby, North Lincolnshire.

Our work is built around strong relationships, compassion and evidence-based practice. We support children, young people and families through a neuro-affirming, trauma-informed approach, helping them better understand themselves, overcome challenges and achieve positive outcomes.

As demand for our neurodiversity services continues to grow, we're looking for an experienced Neurodiversity Practitioner to join our team.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work with children, young people and families following a diagnosis of ADHD.

You'll manage a caseload, receiving referrals for children and young people who have recently received a diagnosis and require practical support to help them and their families understand what this means and how they can move forward positively.

Working through focused, short-term interventions, you'll help children, young people and families develop practical strategies that improve emotional wellbeing, participation and day-to-day life.

Every child, young person and family is different.

One child may need support with emotional regulation or anxiety, while another may benefit from strategies around executive functioning, sensory processing, communication or self-esteem. Parents may require support understanding their child's diagnosis, whilst schools may need advice around creating more neuro-inclusive environments.

You'll assess each family's individual needs and develop tailored intervention plans that help children and young people thrive at home, within education and throughout their wider community.

This is a varied role where you'll work directly with children, parents and families, whilst also collaborating with schools and partner agencies to ensure joined-up, holistic support.

What you'll be doing

Your work may include:

Managing a caseload of children and young people following a neurodevelopmental diagnosis.
Planning and delivering neuro-affirming interventions tailored to the needs of children, young people and families.
Supporting children and young people with areas such as emotional regulation, anxiety, executive functioning, sensory needs and social communication.
Helping parents and carers better understand their child's diagnosis and develop practical strategies to support them.
Working collaboratively with schools, families and partner agencies to achieve positive outcomes.
Providing consultation, advice and guidance to educational settings where appropriate.
Completing assessments, reports and professional documentation.
Contributing to a supportive, innovative and evidence-based service.

We're looking for someone who:

Has experience supporting neurodivergent children, young people and families
Has a strong understanding of Autism, ADHD and neuro-affirming practice
Understands child development, attachment and trauma-informed practice
Can assess needs and develop practical intervention plans
Builds trust and rapport quickly with children, young people and families
Thinks systemically and enjoys working collaboratively with parents, schools and professionals
Has excellent written communication and report-writing skills
Can confidently manage their own workload and caseload
Is compassionate, adaptable and emotionally resilient
Is committed to achieving positive outcomes for children and families

Please Note

This role is available on either a Full-Time basis (from £27,982.50) or a Term Time Only basis (39 weeks + 2 weeks, from £24,726.15). Please indicate your preferred option when applying.
The role is based at Manor Farm, Coleby, North Lincolnshire.
The organisation is based within a rural countryside setting, so candidates should be comfortable travelling to this location.
