Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Carpenter/Joiner to join our construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for fabricating, assembling, and installing various wooden structures and components. This role offers an excellent opportunity to utilise a broad range of carpentry skills within diverse projects, including roofing, masonry, plumbing, and electrical work. The ideal applicant will have experience working with hand tools and power tools, ensuring high standards of craftsmanship and safety on site.

Responsibilities

Fabricate and assemble timber structures and fittings according to project specifications
Operate hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment safely and efficiently
Install joinery items such as doors, windows, cabinets, and other fixtures
Assist with roofing tasks, including sheathing and waterproofing
Perform heavy lifting to move materials and components around the site
Carry out construction painting where required to ensure finishes meet quality standards
Support plumbing, masonry, and electrical tasks as part of integrated building projects
Maintain a clean and organised work environment to promote safety and efficiency
Collaborate with team members to complete projects within deadlines

Requirements

Proven experience in carpentry, joinery, or related construction trades
Proficiency in fabrication, assembly, and installation of wooden structures
Skilled in the use of hand tools such as saws, chisels, hammers, as well as power tools like drills and sanders
Knowledge of roofing techniques and masonry work is desirable
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and effectively on-site
Basic understanding of plumbing and electrical systems is advantageous
Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
Relevant qualifications or certifications in carpentry or construction trades are preferred
