Summary

Following a review of SEND provision, we are seeking a committed and skilled Specialist SEND HLTA to support pupils with cognition and learning needs, mainly in Key Stage 2.

This is an exciting opportunity to help establish a new provision, including a calm learning space and a dedicated, adapted curriculum focused on English, Maths and PSHE. Pupils accessing this provision may be working below age-related expectations and require tailored support linked to EHCPs or specialist advice.

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver small group support in a calm, structured environment each morning
Adapt English and Maths learning to meet individual needs
Support delivery of a personalised PSHE curriculum
Work closely with class teachers to ensure continuity of learning
Support pupils to successfully reintegrate into class in the afternoons

This provision is distinct from our SEMH Nurture provision, with a clear focus on learning needs. We will work alongside external specialists to ensure high-quality implementation.

Has experience supporting pupils with SEND, particularly cognition and learning needs
Has a strong understanding of curriculum adaptation in English and Maths
Is calm, patient and committed to inclusive practice
Brings an open-minded, flexible, can-do attitude
