Overview
We are currently seeking a dedicated Pharmacy Counter Assistant to join our healthcare team. The applicant must have experience of working in a UK community pharmacy for a minimum period of one year. This role involves providing excellent customer service, supporting pharmacy operations, and assisting our team.. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, a compassionate approach to patient care, and previous experience in pharmacy settings. This position offers an opportunity to develop your skills within a professional healthcare environment.

Duties

Greet patients and visitors in a courteous and professional manner at the pharmacy counter
Assist customers with prescription collection, medication enquiries, and general queries
Support pharmacy technicians with medication dispensing and stock organisation, checking in stocks and preparing medication for deliveries.
Ensure accurate data entry of prescriptions into the pharmacy system
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the pharmacy area
Support medication administration processes under supervision, ensuring compliance with safety standards
Assist in managing inventory levels and stock replenishment
Follow all health and safety protocols, including confidentiality and data protection procedures

Qualifications

Previous experience as a pharmacy assistant is essential.
Knowledge of medication patient care principles
Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
Excellent communication skills, demonstrating empathy and professionalism when interacting with patients
Ability to work effectively as part of a team within a busy environment
A recognised qualification or training in pharmacy support is advantageous but not essential
Must be able to work flexible hours, including some weekends or evenings if required
