Who we need:

Early Years Wales are looking for an enthusiastic and committed business administrator to support our work across Wales. As a leading voice in the childcare sector, our work is varied and our administrator would have opportunities to develop wider skills including marketing and communications, childcare specific learning, and working in partnership with other third-sector organisations, childcare providers, and the Welsh Government.

Purpose of the role:

To provide business and administration support for the organisation across Wales. Support the operational team with bookings and responding to the general company email addresses. To provide administration and support communication with the Board of Trustees.

Main Duties:

General office administration duties including resources checking, post in/out, and daily monitoring of information email account.
Supporting the finance team with payment processes, consistency checking, and tasks related to Early Years Wales Finance controls.
Provide secretariat services to the Board, including pre and post meeting communications.
Update Companies House and the Charity Commission services.
Regularly check HR system to ensure up to date submissions and alert Head of Finance/ CEO where any system gaps are identified.
Provide administrative support to Head of Training, Learning and Development, Head of Policy and Advocacy and Head of Membership & Local Authority Contracts where required.
Provide administrative support to the Membership and Website Administrator.

Experience:

Essential:

Ability to work with IT systems including, but not limited to, MS Office and MS Teams, SharePoint, and external portals (Web-based data inputting).

Qualifications:

Essential:

5 GCSE’s including English and maths.

Skills:

Essential:

Ability to work prioritise workflow, meet objectives, respond to tight deadlines and contribute to the values of Early Years Wales
Ability to communicate orally and in writing with people from a wide variety of backgrounds
Accurate numeracy skills
Reliability
Flexible approach
Ability to work independently and use your initiative
Ability to work alone and as part of a team

Desirable:

An interest in any of the following areas would help the organisation:

Social media and digital communications
Formatting documents and working to brand guidelines
Finance and financial processes
Childcare and the early years of childhood

Based: Head Office, Unit 9, Centre Court, Treforest, CF37 5YR

Salary: £14,687.40 (FTE £24,479)

Closing Date: 2nd September

Interview date: W/C Monday 7th September

Start date: 22nd September 2026

Pay: From £14,687.40 per year
