Full job description

We are seeking Residential Support Workers to join Huntington House Children's Home in Cannock.

Huntington House is a new children's home built around a simple belief – children thrive when they are surrounded by genuine, caring adults who show up consistently, build meaningful relationships and create a home where young people feel safe, valued and supported.

We're not looking for perfect people. We're looking for real people.

People who can listen without judging.

People who can stay calm when things become difficult.

People who understand that sometimes a young person doesn't need a lecture – they need someone who will sit with them, have a brew, go for a walk, throw a football around or simply be there when life feels overwhelming.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide a safe, nurturing, and supportive home environment.
Build positive relationships and offer emotional support to young people.
Support young people with daily routines, education, independence skills, and activities.
Encourage positive behaviour through trauma-informed and relationship-based practice.
Complete recordings, reports, and work alongside families and professionals.
Promote the health, safety, and wellbeing of young people at all times.

Skills and Qualifications:

A Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) is desirable but not essential.
Applicants without a Level 3 qualification must be willing to enrol and work towards completion.
Strong communication, empathy, patience, and problem-solving skills.
A full UK driving licence is desirable.

Whilst experience in residential childcare is valued, we are equally interested in people with the right values, life experience, and attitude. Whether your background is youth work, community work, sports coaching, the armed forces, hairdressing, customer service, or simply being someone people naturally turn to for support, we would love to hear from you.

Pay: £245.00 per day
