Full job description

Please note that you must have a Clean, C1 Driving licence, CPC card and Digi card to apply for this position.

We are currently looking for experienced 7.5 tonne Drivers to join our Transport team at our prestigious Ascot Drive Bakery. We have both full-time and Sunday only opportunities available (please stipulate in your cover letter which position you are interestred in). You must have a clean UK C1 driving licence for this position.

In this role, you’ll be responsible for delivering Birds’ freshly made products to our shops, as well as returning empty racks and cabinets back to the bakery. You’ll play a vital part in ensuring our products reach our customers fresh and on time.

We currently have one role requiring up to 42 hours per week, Monday to Saturday, and another position focused on Sunday working. Start times are between 3:30am and 4am, making this an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys early starts and being on the road while the day begins.

Duties to include:

Load / unload vehicles; manual handling of rolling equipment and no hand balling involved.
Ensure vehicle loads are safe and secured with the appropriate restraints as per Company procedures / Safe Systems of Work.
Perform daily vehicle defect checks and log as necessary.

We have vacancies for full time drivers at 42 hours per week, with various shift patterns available, starting at 3.30am/4am, working 5 out of 7-days to cover our 7-day operation.

Applicants will ideally have a good knowledge of the local area but this is not essential as full training will be provided.

Essential Requirements:

Applicants must be of smart appearance, hold a C1 Licence, valid CPC Driver Qualification Card, Digi-Card and have a clean UK driving licence.

Hours: 42 hours per week

Rate £14.89 per hour

Immediate start available
