Job summary

Broom Road Medical Practice is looking to recruit a Receptionist / Care Navigator to join our friendly, supportive, and busy GP practice team.

This is a key front-line role within the practice. You will be the first point of contact for patients, helping to ensure they receive the appropriate care and support. The role involves working closely with our clinical and administrative staff to provide a professional and efficient service to all patients.

Main duties of the job

Provide a welcoming and professional reception service
Handle patient enquiries both face-to-face and over the telephone
Book, amend and manage appointments
Signpost patients to the most appropriate healthcare professional or service
Maintain accurate patient records using clinical systems
Process administrative tasks to support the practice team
Ensure patient confidentiality is maintained at all times

Person specification

Essential

Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
Good IT skills including keyboard use and basic systems
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload
Flexible and adaptable to meet the needs of the practice
Ability to work to deadlines
High level of discretion and commitment to confidentiality

Desirable

Previous experience working in a GP practice or healthcare setting

Additional information

Training will be provided where required
The role may involve covering shifts during practice opening hours
