Head Chef / Ambitious Sous Chef Ready to Step Up

Shambles Bistro – North Walsham, Norfolk

£36,000–£42,000 per year + tip share (typically worth £75–£90 per week)

Shambles Bistro is looking for a passionate, enthusiastic chef to help lead the next chapter of our award-winning family-run restaurant. Whether you're already a Head Chef looking for a fresh challenge or an ambitious Sous Chef who’s ready to take the next step, we'd love to hear from you.

We're much more interested in finding the right person than someone who already has years of Head Chef experience.

If you have the passion, work ethic and ambition to build a fantastic kitchen, we'll support you to become an outstanding Head Chef.

About Shambles Bistro

Shambles Bistro is an independent, family-run restaurant in North Walsham, North Norfolk. We are 30 minutes from Norwich so an easy commute. We are a relaxed, happy and supportive place to work, and we take care to ensure that everyone enjoys a healthy work-life balance. There are no late nights and on week days chefs usually finish at 8.30pm, 9-9.30 on a weekend

We're proud to hold an AA Rosette and have built an excellent reputation for fresh, seasonal food, Mediterranean-inspired cuisine and friendly service. Our AA Rosette reflects the quality and care we put into everything we do—but don't let it put you off

Are already working as a Head Chef and want a fresh challenge OR
Are an experienced Sous Chef who's ready to lead their own kitchen.

Requirements

2 years experience in a senior chef role
A passion for fresh, seasonal ingredients and Mediterranean-inspired cuisine.
Creating seasonal dishes.
Leadership and team management skills
Developing junior chefs.
Producing consistently excellent food.
Working as part of a positive, supportive team.

Experience in menu development, stock control and kitchen organisation is important, but attitude, enthusiasm and leadership potential matter just as much.
