Full job description

We are looking for dedicated and experienced senior carer to join our growing agency team on a flexible basis, working as an integral part of the home team and in line with our values. You will play a vital role in developing, planning, and delivering our quality, person-centred care and be responsible for overseeing the care team.

You will be working with a range of health professionals to support the individual resident in this part of their life – whatever that may look like and in line with our values. You enjoy being part of a team who value and celebrate each other’s expertise, and you share our passion for providing quality care with a focus on rehabilitation. We use technology across our homes to help free up time to care for our residents, develop our teams and our service and improve the quality-of-care All team members receive training in how to use the technology relevant to their role, but prior knowledge of core systems listed below is useful, although not a requirement:

Person centred software (PCS) for care planning.
RADAR for managing risks, events, safeguarding's etc.
Camascope for medication management and administration.
Connecteam for accessing rotas, claiming shifts and internal communication.

We are an agency employing team members on flexible contracts in a range of care, kitchen, domestic and leadership roles. We are part of Each Other Care, which is a family-owned care home group offering a range of elderly and younger adult nursing and dementia care. As an agency we support the home teams by being able to offer familiar, highly trained colleagues available at short notice if required.

We support our England homes in Lancashire, South Yorkshire, Essex, and Scotland homes in Cumbernauld and Forfar.

Personalised Onboarding: You will be onboarded with the same care and attention as our permanent team members. With paid shadow shifts and the guidance of an in-house Buddy, ensuring you feel welcomed and part of our close-knit community from day one. We believe in fostering a sense of belonging, so you'll have all the support you need to thrive in your role.
Weekly payroll: You have the option to be paid weekly or monthly in arrears, to suit your personal preferences
Training: You'll have access to all the training required for your role as a standard benefit. We ensure you receive comprehensive training to excel in your position, with a strong focus on your professional growth and development. Your success is our priority.
Access to shifts real-time: You will be part of our internal rota planning system (Connecteam) which means you can claim shifts and update your availability real time, at your convenience.
Dedicated line management: You will be assigned a primary home, where you are likely to work most of your shifts. The home manager will work closely with your line manager, Jack Marrow, who is our agency consultant, providing specific feedback and guidance to ensure you settle well in the home and for ongoing support.
Guidance and development: You will benefit from quarterly guidance and development conversations with our agency lead, to support your personal and professional

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Leadership & team development

Provide leadership and guidance to the team, fostering a culture of accountability, professional growth, and open communication. Support the manager in maintaining high standards of team engagement and compliance through effective documentation, constructive conversations, and a person-centred approach to team management.
Care Lead and support our care team in providing compassionate, individualised care to our residents in line with our values (training to be provided) including.

Care planning and delivery.

Develop and implement personalised care plans, tailored to the unique needs and interests of each resident working closely with the resident, the relatives, wellbeing and rehabilitation team and other health professionals.
Foster a positive and inclusive atmosphere, encouraging residents to engage in social activities and form meaningful connections within and outside the home.
Assist with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, mobility, mealtimes, encouraging independent living and daily routines, demonstrating flexibility and initiative to continuously develop our care to better meet the needs of our residents.
Administer medications and monitor the health and well-being of our residents, recording events in digital care plans and supporting with PRN protocols.
Communicate effectively with residents, families and healthcare professionals, upholding our commitment to dignity, respect and privacy for all our residents at all times

REQUIREMENTS FOR THE ROLE

Qualifications & knowledge
NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care, equivalent qualification or willing to work towards this.
A current clear DBS and a willingness to undertake a new one for this role.
Knowledge of and compliance with regulatory requirements for quality and safety, meet CQC standards and a commitment to maintaining high standards of care and professionalism.
Leadership, teamwork, and behaviour:
A compassionate and empathetic nature with a genuine desire to make a difference in the lives of our residents, including treating everyone we support with dignity and respect.
Strong leadership and communication skills and the ability to role model, inspire, motivate and upskill fellow team members.
A commitment to continuous improvement and delivering high standards of care.
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a dedicated team.

Previous experience in a senior care role.
