Business Development Manager

Reports to: National Sales Development Manager | Permanent, full-time | 35 hours per week

Candidates will ideally be based in a central location such as Sheffield, Leeds, Derby or Nottingham to effectively cover the Midlands and Northern England.

We're looking for a Business Development Manager to join our growing team and play a key role in expanding our dealer and partner network. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives on identifying opportunities, building relationships and converting prospects into long-term business partnerships.

The Role

As a Business Development Manager, you'll be responsible for generating new business opportunities across the Northern region. From prospecting and networking to presenting solutions and securing new partnerships, you'll manage the full sales cycle before handing successful accounts over to our Account Management team for ongoing support.

You'll work closely with colleagues across Sales, Marketing, Product, Underwriting and Compliance to ensure a seamless customer journey and help drive our ambitious growth plans.

What You'll Be Doing:

Identifying and developing new dealer and partner opportunities.
Building and managing a strong sales pipeline using CRM.
Prospecting through networking, referrals and market research.
Delivering engaging sales presentations and proposals.
Understanding customer needs and recommending suitable products and services.
Negotiating and securing new business opportunities.
Ensuring smooth onboarding and handover to the Account Management team.
Keeping up to date with market trends, competitor activity and regulatory requirements.

What We’re Looking For:

An experienced Business Development or Field Sales professional.
A confident communicator who enjoys building relationships with senior decision-makers.
Self-motivated, target-driven and resilient.
Organised, commercially minded and confident managing a sales pipeline.
Comfortable working independently whilst collaborating with internal teams.
Keen to learn and develop within an FCA-regulated environment.

What You'll Need:

Essential

Proven experience in business development, field sales or new business acquisition.
Experience within motor retail, automotive, finance, warranty, insurance or dealer services is highly desirable.
A track record of winning new business.
Experience using CRM systems and Microsoft Office.
Full UK driving licence.
Willingness to travel across the Northern region and occasionally throughout the UK.

Desirable

Experience working with dealer groups or motor retailers.
Knowledge of FCA-regulated products or services.
Experience presenting to senior stakeholders.
