Weighbridge Operative

Hours of Work

9.00 am - 5. 30pm Monday to Friday

Highly competitive hourly rate plus a weekly £50 Attendance bonus.
Fulltime/ Permanent

Westland are seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Weighbridge Operator to join our team. This is a vital role ensuring the accurate and efficient processing of vehicle movements in and out of the facility.

Main Duties

· Ensure all incoming and outgoing vehicles have correct documentation (e.g. delivery notes, dispatch paperwork). Cross-check against internal systems for compliance and accuracy.
Ensure optimum movement of workplace transport in and out of site – ensuring all PPP is worn in accordance with current H&S requirements. Ensure contractors sign in/out – guide all visitors to reception.
Ensure all bulk loads in/out weighed, given relevant cards and directions.
Act as the primary contact for all drivers and visitors. Provide professional, friendly, and clear communication, maintaining a positive site experience.
Clearly communicate site-specific Health & Safety rules to all site users. Monitor compliance and escalate concerns as necessary.
Acutely record vehicle weights, job numbers, and customer details accurately into our internal logistics/weighbridge software.
Ensure all loads out are maximised for weight, checked for quality and quantity, securely strapped for transport and leave the site with the correct paperwork including any changes.

Essential Criteria

Minimum 1 year of administrative experience in a fast-paced FMCG or logistics environment
Previous experience dealing with high volumes of goods being dispatched in a similar role.
Minimum of 5 GCSE’s A-C including Math and English or equivalent.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, with particular emphasis on Microsoft Excel.
An excellent communicator, both verbally and written and an ability to work on own initiative.
Possess excellent attention to detail, able to work accurately and quickly.
Must be well organised with the ability to respond promptly and have experience of working to targets/deadlines.
Own transport is essential due to the location of the site.
