Full job description

Job Title: Trailer Fitter

Location: Dungannon
Job Type: Full-time / Permanent
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience
Working Hours: [e.g. Monday–Friday, overtime available]

Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Trailer Fitter to join our workshop team. The successful candidate will be responsible for hydraulic piping and electrical wiring of trailers.

Key Responsibilities

Diagnose and rectify mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic faults
Fit braking systems, suspensions, landing legs,and lighting
Conduct safety inspections and pre-MOT checks
Ensure all work complies with DVSA regulations and health & safety standards
Accurately complete job cards, inspection reports, and service records
Maintain a clean and safe working environment
Work independently or as part of a team to meet workshop deadlines
Liaise with supervisors regarding parts requirements and job progress

Requirements

Proven experience as a Trailer Fitter or similar role
Strong knowledge of HGV trailer systems and components
Understanding of DVSA standards and MOT requirements
Ability to use diagnostic tools and workshop equipment
Good attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Ability to work under pressure and manage workload effectively
Full UK driving licence (HGV licence desirable but not essential)

Desirable Qualifications

NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance & Repair (or equivalent)
IRTEC accreditation
