Children's Home Worker
Location: Brockley, SE4
Salary: £26,520 - £28,000
Hours: Full-time, 40hours per week

Are you passionate about making a real difference in the lives of children and young people? Do you possess a Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare or working towards it? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you.

Our children’s home provides a safe, supportive, and nurturing environment where young people can thrive and achieve their full potential.

OwnLife Group are looking to appoint a Support Worker to join our team. Reporting to the manager, you will be responsible for safeguarding and promoting young people’s welfare in accordance with the Children’s Homes Regulations (2015) and Quality Standards. This is a full time and permanent role (40 hours a week).

Experience working with children with emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD) would be advantageous for this role.

Key Responsibilities:

The key responsibilities of a Residential Practitioner, but are not limited to:

Build positive relationships with children and young people, fostering trust and understanding.
Provide day-to-day care, support, and supervision in line with individual care plans.
Understand and proactively respond to each young person’s needs and requirements.
Support young people in developing life skills, promoting education, and engaging in recreational activities.
Work collaboratively with colleagues, families, and external professionals to achieve the best outcomes.
Maintain accurate records and follow policies and procedures to ensure the highest standards of care.

What We’re Looking For:

Experience working with children or young people in a residential home
A Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent)
Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
A compassionate, patient, and understanding approach to care.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
