Night Care Assistant – Autumn House Nursing Home

£13.30 per hour | 36 hours per week | Paid Breaks

Autumn House Nursing Home is looking for a kind, caring and dependable Night Care Assistant to join our team.

About the role

As a Night Care Assistant at Autumn House, you’ll work as part of our night team to provide high-quality, person-centred care and ensure residents are comfortable and safe throughout the night.

You’ll get to know our residents and their individual routines, preferences and care needs, providing reassurance and support whenever they need you.

Your responsibilities will include:

Supporting residents with their individual care needs throughout the night
Carrying out regular checks in line with residents’ individual care plans
Responding promptly and compassionately to call bells and requests for assistance
Providing personal care, including support with washing, dressing, toileting and continence care where required
Helping residents settle comfortably for the night and supporting those who may wake or require reassurance
Supporting residents with mobility and repositioning in accordance with their care plans
Promoting residents’ privacy, dignity, independence and choice at all times
Observing residents’ wellbeing and reporting any changes or concerns to the senior member of the team
Maintaining accurate care records and completing required documentation
Helping to maintain a clean, safe and comfortable environment
Following safeguarding, infection prevention and health and safety procedures
Working closely with colleagues to ensure continuity of care
Providing a clear and accurate handover to the incoming day team
Attending training and team meetings to continually develop your knowledge and skills

Is comfortable and reliable working night shifts
Treats every resident with dignity and respect
Is attentive and able to recognise when a resident may need additional support
Has good communication and teamwork skills
Is calm and able to respond appropriately to situations during the night
Is passionate about supporting older people
Understands the importance of confidentiality, safeguarding and professional boundaries
Is willing to learn and develop their care skills

Previous care experience is welcome, but full training is provided. What matters most is having the right attitude, being dependable and having a genuine desire to provide excellent care.
