Studio Manager / Head Coach – F45 Training Mill Hill
£32,000–£34,000 basic salary + up to £3,000 annual performance bonus
OTE up to £37,000
Full-time – up to 40 hours per week
Mill Hill, North London
F45 Training Mill Hill is looking for an exceptional Studio Manager / Head Coach to lead the day-to-day running of our established studio and become one of the key faces of our community.
This is not a traditional corporate gym management role, and it is not a position for someone who wants to spend their entire week behind a laptop.
This is a hands-on, highly visible leadership role combining coaching, team management, member experience, studio operations and commercial responsibility.
We are looking for a people person first, but someone who also has the confidence, organisation and leadership ability to take genuine ownership of the studio.
About F45 Mill Hill
Our members train with us four or five times a week and, for many of them, F45 Mill Hill feels like a second home.
The relationships between our coaches and members are a huge part of what makes the studio special. We want a manager who genuinely enjoys getting to know people, helping them achieve their goals and creating an environment where every member feels recognised, supported and part of one team.
The Studio Manager / Head Coach will be one of the most visible representatives of our business.
You must genuinely live and believe in fitness, train consistently, take pride in your professional presentation and be able to lead members and coaches by example. You should have the fitness, energy and physical confidence to demonstrate exercises properly and coach high-energy group sessions with credibility.
Our members and team should see someone who represents the standards, attitude and lifestyle that we promote within the studio.
The Role
You will work closely with the owner while taking responsibility for the day-to-day running and continued development of F45 Mill Hill.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading, managing and developing our coaching team
- Coaching approximately 16 F45 classes per week
- Delivering engaging, technically strong and high-energy sessions
- Building genuine relationships with members
- Taking ownership of member experience and retention
- Creating and managing the monthly staff rota
- Recruiting and onboarding new coaches and team members when required
- Maintaining consistently high coaching, cleanliness and studio standards
- Monitoring coach performance and providing clear feedback
- Holding team members accountable when standards are not met
- Managing day-to-day member questions and issues
- Supporting membership administration, lead follow-up and sales when required
- Managing studio Challenges, HYROX programmes, social events and community initiatives
- Overseeing equipment, maintenance and general studio operations
- Monitoring studio targets, performance and key priorities
- Eventually overseeing a Sales & Community Manager
- Meeting weekly with the owner to review performance, targets, staffing and priorities
You will be expected to understand what is happening throughout the studio—not only through reports, but by being present on the gym floor, coaching classes, speaking to members and supporting the team.
Who We Are Looking For
The right person will be:
- Warm, friendly and highly personable
- Naturally good at building genuine relationships
- Energetic, confident and engaging
- Someone members enjoy being around, respect and trust
- Genuinely passionate about training, health and fitness
- Someone who maintains an active lifestyle and leads by example
- Professional, polished and proud to represent the studio
- An excellent group coach with strong technical knowledge
- Physically confident demonstrating exercises and leading high-energy sessions
- Comfortable managing, motivating and developing a team
- Able to combine a friendly personality with clear standards and accountability
- Organised, reliable and proactive
- Comfortable taking ownership, solving problems and making decisions
- Commercially aware and willing to support sales and membership growth
- Passionate about creating a strong local fitness community
- Professional without being overly corporate
- Someone who genuinely wants to become a major part of the studio rather than simply coach a few classes
You do not need to have been a Studio Manager previously, but you must be able to demonstrate leadership, maturity, initiative and the ability to take responsibility.
Essential Requirements
- Level 3 Personal Trainer qualification
- Strong group coaching and exercise demonstration ability
- Previous leadership, senior coaching or management experience
- A genuine commitment to your own training, health and fitness
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Strong organisation and attention to detail
- Ability to work a mixture of early mornings, daytime hours, evenings and weekends
- Tuesday mornings and Sundays are essential working periods
Previous F45 experience would be helpful but is not essential.
We would also love to hear from strong candidates currently working in boutique fitness studios, premium gyms or independent gyms, as well as experienced Head Coaches or Senior Coaches ready to take the next step into management.
