Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our culinary team as a <PERSON>. This role offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in food preparation and kitchen operations within a dynamic environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in meal preparation, ensuring food safety standards are maintained, and supporting the overall smooth running of the kitchen. Previous experience in a restaurant or catering setting is advantageous but not essential, as training will be provided. This position is paid and suitable for individuals eager to pursue a career in the culinary arts or hospitality industry.

Responsibilities

Assist with food preparation, including chopping, mixing, and assembling ingredients
Cook dishes according to specified recipes and standards
Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene throughout all kitchen activities
Support with meal presentation to ensure visual appeal
Organise ingredients and kitchen equipment for efficient workflow
Follow health and safety regulations at all times
Support serving staff during busy periods, ensuring timely delivery of meals
Clean and sanitise work surfaces, utensils, and equipment after use
Assist in stock control and inventory management

Skills

Experience in food preparation or cooking within a professional setting preferred
Knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices
Ability to work efficiently under pressure during busy service times
Good organisational skills with attention to detail
Strong communication skills and team-oriented attitude
Basic understanding of culinary techniques and meal presentation
Previous restaurant or catering experience is advantageous but not mandatory
Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to different tasks within the kitchen environment
