Full job description

Are you the perfect co-pilot for a journey of delivering happiness? Do you want to play a key part in delivering customer satisfaction one B&Q product at a time? If the answer is Yes, read on!

Here at GXO, we’re working together with B&Q and are looking for a Drivers Mate to join our Store to Home team in Croydon (CR0 4YA).

You’ll be working on a full-time, permanent basis, following a two-week rotating shift pattern: Week 1 – Monday to Friday / Week 2 – Tuesday to Saturday, with a start time of 09:00. The role is contracted to 40 hours per week.

An hourly rate of £14.47, that is an annual salary of £30,097.60
Overtime pay of £21.71 per hour (when applicable, paid over 40hrs)

What you’ll do on a typical day:

Work as a part of two-person team delivering products to customer premises (room of choice) on multidrop basis – an average of 16 drops per day off peak and 24 drop per day in peak season
Assist the delivery driver in parking and manoeuvring a company vehicle as well as loading and unloading of vehicles as and when required
Provide effective customer service while ensuring goods are delivered in excellent condition
Ensure that customers are kept informed of their estimated time of delivery and any issues are communicated in a polite and courteous manner

What you need to succeed at GXO:

Experience of dealing with multi drop home delivery preferred but not essential
Excellent customer service skills, both written and verbal
Willingness to complete manual handling tasks such as pulling, lifting and pushing
Can do attitude with a knack for problem solving
Willingness to undertake pre-employment Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS Check)
Be prepared to commute to Croydon (CR0 4YA) for the required shift pattern
