About Us

Job Purpose

As a Residential Support Worker, you will play a key role in supporting children and young people in care. You will assist in their daily routines, emotional development, and overall well-being, ensuring a warm, safe, and structured environment.

Key Responsibilities

Support children and young people in their day-to-day lives, including school attendance, activities, and appointments
Promote independence, self-esteem, and positive behaviour through consistent routines and boundaries
Provide personal care support, including assistance with hygiene, dressing, and other daily living activities as needed
Build trusting, respectful relationships with children and act as a positive role model
Work as part of a team to implement care plans, risk assessments, and safeguarding procedures
Maintain accurate records and contribute to reports and reviews
Assist with domestic duties including cooking, cleaning, and maintaining a safe home environment
Participate in training and development opportunities

Desirable Requirements

Experience working with children or young people in any setting
Experience working in a children’s residential home
NVQ Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent or willingness to work towards it)
Understanding of safeguarding, child protection, and trauma-informed care

Reliable, flexible, and able to work shifts, including weekends and sleep-ins
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Committed to the well-being and development of children in care
