Full job description

Safeguarding & Domestic Abuse Lead — Living With Hope CIC

Living With Hope CIC is seeking a strong Safeguarding & Domestic Abuse Lead to support the safety, protection and risk management of the individuals we house and support.

We provide safe accommodation and structured support for individuals escaping or recovering from domestic abuse. Our mission is to restore stability, dignity and opportunity.

This is not a passive advisory role.

We are looking for someone who can bring safeguarding discipline, domestic abuse knowledge and practical risk oversight to the organisation. The right person will help ensure that resident safety, escalation processes, record-keeping and multi-agency working are taken seriously at every level.

The role will involve:

Supporting safeguarding governance across the organisation
Reviewing and strengthening safeguarding policies, procedures and escalation routes
Supporting domestic abuse risk management and resident safety planning
Helping ensure referrals, incidents and concerns are properly recorded and acted upon
Supporting MARAC, police, local authority and multi-agency communication where appropriate
Helping the organisation evidence safe practice to commissioners, funders and partners
Challenging leadership where safeguarding standards are not being met
Ensuring safeguarding activity protects residents and strengthens organisational credibility

We are especially interested in someone with experience in one or more of the following areas:

Domestic abuse services
Safeguarding adults or children
MARAC, IDVA, refuge or victim support work
Social care, housing support or public sector safeguarding
Police, probation, local authority or multi-agency risk management
Policy, compliance, governance or quality assurance

This position is currently voluntary, but it is designed for someone who wants to play a serious role in protecting vulnerable people and shaping a high-standard social impact organisation.

Expected commitment: approximately 1 board meeting per month, plus safeguarding related input where required.
