Mechanical Workshop Technician (MIG Welding & Arcade Equipment)

£29,000 - £36,000 per year

PLUS Substantial additional rates for Event Crew Work

Full-time Permanent

HANDS-ON Workshop based with opportunities on UK and overseas installations & projects.

DRIVING LICENCE REQUIRED

The Racing Bug designs, builds and operates unique competitive racing attractions and arcade experiences for venues throughout the UK and internationally. We are seeking a practical and enthusiastic Mechanical Workshop Technician to join our growing team.

Responsibilities

Manufacture, assemble and maintain Raceway attractions, arcade equipment and amusement devices.
Carry out MIG welding and light fabrication work using steel box section, sheet and tube.
Repair and restore retro arcade machines, and electro-mechanical amusement equipment.
Assemble mechanical systems including steering mechanisms, pedal assemblies, bearings, wheels, chassis and suspension components.
Diagnose and repair mechanical faults and wear issues.
Perform basic electrical work including wiring, crimping, fitting connectors and replacing switches, relays and motors.
Assist with installations, venue fit-outs and occasional event support work within the UK and overseas.
Maintain workshop tools, machinery and stock.

Skills and Experience

Experience in mechanical assembly, fabrication, vehicle restoration, karting, agricultural machinery, amusement equipment or similar engineering environments.
Competent MIG welding skills.
Ability to read technical drawings and work accurately from measurements.
Experience using hand tools, power tools and workshop equipment.
Basic electrical fault-finding skills would be advantageous.
Full UK driving licence required
