Full job description

Job Summary
Must be 25 for insurance reasons. We are seeking a dedicated and versatile Part-Time General Maintenance Person to support the up keep and smooth operation of our facilities. The ideal candidate will possess a broad range of skills, including mechanical, electrical, and plumbing knowledge, with the ability to perform routine maintenance tasks efficiently. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with hands-on experience in maintenance and a proactive approach to problem-solving. The successful applicant will contribute to maintaining a safe, functional, and well-maintained environment for staff and visitors alike.

Responsibilities

Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of machinery, equipment, and building infrastructure.
Perform basic electrical repairs, including troubleshooting circuits and replacing components.
Carry out welding tasks as required to repair or fabricate parts.
Read and interpret schematics, technical diagrams, and wiring diagrams to diagnose issues effectively.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and report any significant repairs needed.
Assist with the installation of new equipment or systems following safety standards.
Ensure all maintenance work complies with health and safety regulations.
Support supervising staff in organising maintenance schedules and tasks.
Provide excellent customer service by addressing internal client needs promptly and professionally.

Qualifications

Proven experience in maintenance roles with knowledge of mechanical systems, electrical work, and welding.
Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and schematics interpretation.
Strong mechanical knowledge coupled with practical skills in troubleshooting and repairs.
Previous supervisory or leadership experience is desirable but not essential.
Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while prioritising safety standards.
Demonstrated customer service skills with a proactive attitude towards problem resolution.
Relevant certifications or training in electrical systems or welding are advantageous but not mandatory. This position offers an engaging environment for those eager to utilise their maintenance expertise within a supportive team dedicated to operational excellence.
