Full job description

Job Overview
We are seeking a friendly and versatile experienced Barista to join our team. This role involves preparing and serving high-quality beverages, assisting with food preparation, and providing excellent customer service in a vibrant café environment. The ideal candidate will be passionate about delivering a welcoming experience and capable of handling multiple tasks efficiently. Previous experience in a similar role is preferred but not essential, as training will be provided.

Duties

Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold beverages, including coffee, tea, and specialised drinks, ensuring high standards of quality and presentation
Assist with food preparation tasks such as toasting sandwiches, making salads and serving baked goods
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the café area in accordance with food safety standards
Serve customers efficiently and courteously, taking orders accurately and handling payments
Manage stock levels, restocking supplies as needed to ensure smooth operation
Uphold food safety regulations at all times, ensuring hygiene standards are maintained
Support team members during busy periods by assisting with general duties around the café
Ensure timely delivery of orders to minimise wait times for customers

Skills

Proven Barista experience and strong interest in coffee making and beverage preparation
Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in a food service environment
Experience in serving customers with excellent communication skills
Basic food preparation skills for assembling menu items efficiently
Good time management skills to handle multiple orders during busy periods effectively
Strong organisational skills to keep work areas clean and stocked
Basic maths skills for handling cash transactions accurately
Ability to work well under pressure while maintaining a friendly attitude
