Full job description

We are a well-established specialist plumbing merchant looking for a motivated, hard-working, and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Sales Assistant.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with people, takes pride in delivering excellent customer service, and is keen to build a long-term career within the plumbing and heating industry. Previous industry experience is beneficial, but we believe attitude, commitment, and a willingness to learn are just as important. Full product training will be provided.

As a Sales Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting our customers and ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of our sales counter and office. Whether serving customers face-to-face, over the phone, or by email, you will provide outstanding service and help customers find the right heating parts and solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Serving trade and retail customers at the sales counter.
Answering customer enquiries face to face, by telephone and email.
Processing sales orders and quotations accurately and efficiently.
Identifying and supplying domestic and commercial heating spare parts.
Building and maintaining strong relationships with new and existing customers.
Assisting with stock control, stock replenishment, and general housekeeping.
Supporting the team with day-to-day sales and administrative duties.
Contributing to a positive and professional customer experience at all times.

About You

Have excellent customer service and communication skills.

Be able to use their own initiative and adapt to a varied workload.
Have previous experience in sales, customer service, or a plumbing/heating merchant environment (preferred but not essential).
Have an interest in heating supplies and be keen to develop their product knowledge.
