Full job description

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Cook to join our small team. The ideal candidate will be comfortable independently running a kitchen and have a passion for food. As a Cook, you will play a vital role in the preparation and presentation of dishes, ensuring that all food safety standards are adhered to. This position requires a blend of creativity and efficiency in meal preparation, contributing to an great dining experience for our customers.

Duties

Prepare and cook a variety of meals according to established recipes and standards.
Ensure all food is prepared in compliance with food safety regulations and hygiene standards.
Assist in the planning of menus and meal preparation schedules.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation in the kitchen area, including proper storage of ingredients and equipment.
Monitor inventory levels of food supplies and assist with ordering as needed.
Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely service during busy periods.
Help train new kitchen staff on food preparation techniques and safety protocols.
Participate in regular kitchen meetings to discuss menu changes, special events, or operational improvements.

Experience

Previous experience in a kitchen or restaurant environment is preferred, demonstrating knowledge of food preparation techniques.
Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices is essential.
Culinary qualifications or certifications are advantageous but not mandatory.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
A genuine passion for cooking and creating delicious meals that delight guests.
