Full job description

Overview

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic General Manager to oversee daily operations of our lively pub. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a passion for hospitality, and a comprehensive understanding of food and beverage service. This role offers an exciting opportunity to manage a team, ensure excellent customer experiences, and uphold high standards of food safety and service quality. The General Manager will be responsible for supervising staff, managing stock, and maintaining the overall atmosphere of the establishment to ensure it remains a popular destination for patrons.

Responsibilities

Lead and supervise the team, including bar staff, servers, and kitchen personnel, fostering a positive and productive working environment
Oversee daily operations, ensuring smooth service during busy periods and maintaining high standards of customer care
Manage food preparation and cooking processes in accordance with health and safety regulations
Ensure all food safety protocols are adhered to, including proper storage, handling, and hygiene practices
Organise staffing schedules, assign duties, and monitor performance to optimise team efficiency
Maintain stock levels by ordering supplies in a timely manner and managing inventory control
Oversee the preparation of beverages, including a range of real ales and barista-style coffee offerings
Handle customer enquiries and resolve any issues promptly to ensure satisfaction
Implement promotional activities to attract new customers and retain existing clientele
Ensure compliance with licensing laws and health & safety regulations at all times

Qualifications

Proven experience in restaurant or hospitality management, preferably within a pub or similar environment
Strong background in food preparation, cooking, and food safety standards
Supervising experience with demonstrated team management skills
Knowledge of food production processes and kitchen operations
Experience in serving customers in a hospitality setting with excellent interpersonal skills
Leadership qualities with the ability to motivate staff and foster teamwork
Familiarity with restaurant or hotel operations is advantageous
Previous barista experience or expertise in beverage preparation is desirable
Organised with excellent time management skills to handle multiple responsibilities effectively

Pay: £30,000.00-£40,000.00 per year
