Full job description

Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Care Assistant to join our team. This role involves providing high-quality support to individuals in care homes and home care settings, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, be organised, and have a genuine desire to make a positive difference in people's lives. Prior experience in care environments is advantageous but not essential, as full training will be provided. The position offers an opportunity to work in a supportive environment where your skills can develop further.

Duties

Assisting residents or clients with daily activities such as personal care, mobility, and medication reminders
Supporting individuals with their care plans tailored to their specific needs
Providing companionship and emotional support to enhance their quality of life
Maintaining accurate records of care provided using IT systems
Communicating effectively with team members, residents, and family members to ensure seamless care delivery
Assisting with household tasks such as light cleaning and meal preparation when required
Adhering to health and safety protocols at all times to ensure a safe environment for everyone
The shift pattern is 7.30am - 2.30pm and 2.30pm to 9.30pm

We work on a two week rota, the candidate should be flexible and able to work alternative weekends as well as alternative hours as and when required during sickness and holiday absences.

Experience

Previous experience working within a care home or providing home care is desirable but not mandatory; full training will be offered to suitable candidates
Good command of English, both spoken and written, for effective communication
Basic IT skills for maintaining accurate records and updating care plans
Strong communication skills to interact empathetically with clients and team members
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
