We are currently looking for a compassionate, proactive, and reliable Part-Time Support Worker to join our team in the Stalybridge, Tameside area.

Role Overview

As a Support Worker, you will provide high-quality, person-centred support to individuals with a wide range of needs. You will help tenants maintain their accommodation, develop independence, engage with external services, and manage daily living tasks.

This role is ideal for someone who is caring, professional, non-judgemental, and confident working with vulnerable individuals, including those with current or previous drug and alcohol dependency.

Key Responsibilities

Work closely with individuals to identify their needs and provide appropriate support.
Support tenants with daily living tasks, including budgeting, attending appointments, and engaging with external support services.
Work with individuals who may have current or previous drug and alcohol dependency.
Promote independence while ensuring tenants receive the right level of support.
Monitor safeguarding concerns and follow appropriate reporting and whistleblowing procedures.
Listen to tenants’ concerns and respond promptly, escalating matters to the Supported Housing Manager where required.
Liaise with external professionals, including local authorities, police, social services, support staff, and other relevant agencies.
Support tenants with housing-related issues, including neighbour disputes, harassment, safety concerns, and occupancy-related matters.
Inspect property areas to identify repairs, maintenance, decoration needs, and room readiness for new tenants.
Promote the safe, clean, and respectful use of communal areas and private rooms.
Carry out relevant health and safety checks in line with company policies and procedures.
Complete daily reports, support records, and relevant paperwork accurately and professionally.
Attend team meetings, training sessions, and contribute to service improvements.
Maintain confidentiality and comply with GDPR requirements at all times.
Work professionally and uphold company policies, including Equality and Diversity and Health & Safety standards.
Carry out any other reasonable duties requested by your manager.

About You

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
A caring, empathetic, and non-judgemental approach.
Experience supporting vulnerable people.
Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise workload.
Confidence working both independently and as part of a team.
Good computer literacy and administrative skills.
Good numeracy skills.
Awareness of confidentiality, safeguarding, and equal opportunities.
The ability to remain calm and professional under pressure.
A flexible, cooperative, and motivated attitude.
High levels of integrity, reliability, and professionalism.
The ability to handle sensitive or distressing situations with empathy.

Requirements

Education:
GCSE or equivalent preferred.

Experience:

Support work: 2 years preferred.
Working with vulnerable people: 2 years preferred.

Language:
English required.

Licence/Certification:

Driving Licence preferred.
DBS preferred.
