About Us

The Tea Tree by Ruffles 79 London is a modern vintage tea room offering beautifully presented afternoon teas, quality coffee, and a welcoming breakfast and lunch menu. We’re known for elegant presentation, warm hospitality, and creating memorable experiences for every guest.

The Role

We’re seeking an experienced Senior Barista who can deliver exceptional coffee, support afternoon tea service, and assist with breakfast and lunch operations. This role suits someone who enjoys variety, takes pride in presentation, and thrives in a busy, customer‑focused environment.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare consistently high‑quality coffees, teas, and specialty drinks
Support breakfast and lunch service, including preparing drinks and assisting with food presentation
Set up and serve traditional afternoon teas using teapots, tiered stands, and fine china
Ensure elegant table presentation across all services
Lead and support junior baristas and front‑of‑house staff
Maintain excellent standards of cleanliness and organisation
Assist with stock management and ordering
Deliver warm, attentive customer service throughout the day

About You

1–2 years’ barista experience (specialty coffee preferred)
Experience in afternoon tea service, including setting up and serving with teapots and china
Comfortable supporting breakfast and lunch service in a café or tea room setting
Confident in espresso calibration and latte art
Friendly, reliable, and passionate about hospitality
Strong communication and leadership skills
Able to work weekends and busy service periods
A genuine love for great coffee, tea, and guest experience
Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene throughout all food and drink preparation processes.
Take orders accurately and efficiently, providing friendly assistance to customers.
Handle cash transactions with basic maths skills, ensuring correct change is given.
Keep the work area clean, organised, and well-stocked at all times.
Assist in food preparation tasks as needed, including light snack assembly or packaging.
Manage time effectively during busy periods to minimise wait times and maximise customer satisfaction.
Follow company policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
