Job Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Activity Coordinator to energize and engage residents in our care community. In this vital role, you will design, organize, and facilitate a variety of meaningful activities tailored to the interests and needs of seniors, including those with dementia or Alzheimer's. Your enthusiasm and creativity will foster a lively, inclusive environment that promotes social interaction, mental stimulation, and overall well-being. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact on residents’ lives while working in a supportive team environment.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement engaging activity programs that cater to residents’ interests, abilities, and care needs, including dementia and Alzheimer's care.
Lead group activities such as arts and crafts, music sessions, games, outings, and fitness classes to promote socialization and mental stimulation.
Collaborate with care staff to assess individual resident preferences and create personalized activity plans.
Encourage participation by building strong relationships with residents through effective communication skills and empathetic engagement.
Monitor residents during activities to ensure safety and provide assistance as needed.
Maintain organized records of activities conducted, resident participation, and feedback for continuous improvement.
Foster a lively, positive atmosphere that celebrates residents’ abilities and promotes joy in daily life.

Requirements

Prior experience working in assisted living facilities or nursing homes is highly preferred.
Knowledge of senior care practices, including dementia care and Alzheimer's care techniques.
Strong communication skills to connect effectively with residents, families, and team members.
Experience in caregiving or care home environments is advantageous.
Ability to plan, organize, and lead diverse activities with enthusiasm and professionalism.
Compassionate attitude with a genuine desire to enhance residents’ quality of life.
Flexibility to adapt activities based on residents’ changing needs and preferences.
