Café Operations Manager

Rose & Ramble | Hereford

Salary: £32,000–£35,000 + Bonus

Full-time | Average 40 hours per week

Rose & Ramble isn't just a café.

We're building one of the UK's most exciting hospitality brands, creating daily tropical escapes through exceptional customer experiences, incredible food and a team that genuinely loves what they do.

Our goal is to become the UK's leading superfood café brand, and we're looking for someone who wants to build that with us.

This is not a traditional café manager role.

We're looking for someone who genuinely loves running busy operations and has a true passion for hospitality.

Someone who walks into a café and instantly notices:

customers waiting too long
stock running low
a team member needing support
a station becoming overwhelmed

cleanliness levels
the small details

Someone who naturally takes ownership before they're asked.

Your Mission

When Ben and Georgia (the founders) aren't in the building...

Rose & Ramble should run exactly as if they were.

That means:

Customers receive an exceptional experience.
The team know exactly what they're doing.

The café feels calm, organised and under control.

Your Responsibilities:

Leadership

Lead every shift with confidence.
Allocate stations before every shift.
Hold daily team briefings.
Coach team members in real time.
Conduct one-to-ones.
Develop future supervisors.

Shift Management

You'll constantly oversee the whole café.

You'll:

monitor customer flow and experience
monitor ticket times
move staff between stations
solve bottlenecks
support busy stations
manage breaks
ensure standards never slip
uphold brand values

Your job isn't to work one station.

Your job is to lead all stations.

Standards

You'll be responsible for:

food quality
cleanliness
allergen procedures
customer experience
health & safety
opening standards
closing standards

Nothing should require founder intervention.

People

You'll build a positive, accountable culture.

That means:

Business

You'll own:

labour
rotas

stocktakes
ordering
weekly reporting

The Person

Essential Experience

Minimum two years leading hospitality teams.

Experience with:
