Full job description

Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Pastry Chef to join our team. As a Pastry Chef, you will be responsible for preparing and baking a variety of pastries and desserts in our restaurant kitchen. This is an exciting opportunity to showcase your culinary skills and contribute to creating delicious and visually appealing desserts. 40 hours per week day times only and working every other weekend.

Responsibilities:
- Prepare and bake a wide range of pastries, including cakes, cookies, pies, and breads
- Follow recipes and ensure consistency in taste, texture, and presentation
- Decorate pastries using various techniques, such as piping, glazing, and garnishing
- Monitor oven temperatures and baking times to ensure proper cooking
- Maintain inventory of pastry ingredients and supplies
- Adhere to food safety and sanitation standards
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth operation of the pastry section
- Assist with stocktake, ordering and inputting stock in absence of head pastry

Skills:
- Strong knowledge of food production and preparation techniques
- Previous experience working in a restaurant/ pastry section or culinary environment
- Proficiency in baking techniques and pastry decoration
- Familiarity with kitchen equipment and tools used in pastry preparation
- Understanding of food safety regulations and best practices
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment¬Must have IT knowledge¬Must be able to do stocktake
- Attention to detail and ability to maintain high standards of quality
