Overview

We are seeking a passionate and dynamic Chef to join our vibrant culinary team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead food preparation, menu planning, and kitchen management in a fast-paced, hospitality-focused environment. LOCATION: 2 Church Square, Ballater, Scotland, AB35 5NE

Responsibilities

Lead and supervise kitchen staff to ensure high-quality food production and efficient service delivery
Oversee menu planning, ingredient sourcing, and inventory control to optimize food costs and minimize waste
Ensure strict adherence to food safety sanitizing procedures and hygiene standards across all kitchen operations
Manage shift schedules, coordinate catering events, and oversee banquet preparations to meet client specifications
Supervise food handling, cooking, and presentation to maintain consistency and excellence in every dish served
Implement food management practices that align with health regulations and industry best practices
Train team members in culinary techniques, food safety protocols, and customer service standards

Skills

Extensive experience with banquet operations, catering services, and fine dining environments
Proven supervisory experience managing kitchen teams and overseeing daily operations
Strong background in dietary department procedures and food safety sanitizing protocols
Skilled in food preparation, menu planning, and kitchen management with a focus on quality control
Knowledge of inventory management, cost control strategies, and inventory control systems
Excellent leadership abilities with a focus on team management and staff development
Familiarity with restaurant management principles including shift management and food service operations
Ability to handle high-pressure situations while maintaining attention to detail in food handling and presentation
Experience in hospitality settings with a focus on serving diverse customer needs and dietary requirements
Competence in managing food industry standards for cleanliness, safety, and sanitation processes
