Full job description

Support Worker – Supported Accommodation (16–17)

Inspire Growth House – Ilford
Part-Time / 24 Hour Shifts (Including Sleep-In)

Inspire Growth House is looking for a confident, organised and proactive Support Worker to join our team supporting young people aged 16–17 within our Ofsted registered supported accommodation service.

This role would suit somebody who is calm under pressure, emotionally intelligent, able to build genuine relationships with young people, and confident in setting clear and healthy boundaries whilst maintaining a respectful and approachable manner.

Shift Pattern

24-hour shifts including sleep-in
8-hour sleep-in paid at half hourly rate
Hourly rate: £13 per hour

About the Role

You will support young people with:

Independent living skills
Daily routines and structure
Key-work sessions
Emotional wellbeing and regulation
Education, training and employment engagement
Budgeting, appointments and practical support
Building confidence, accountability and resilience

You will also be responsible for:

Writing clear daily logs and key-work reports
Maintaining professional boundaries
Safeguarding and risk management
Supporting young people through challenging situations in a calm and restorative manner

What We’re Looking For

We are looking for someone who:

Takes initiative and works confidently independently
Has experience working with children or young people
Is patient, grounded and emotionally mature
Has strong literacy and report-writing skills
Can build rapport naturally with young people
Understands how to balance boundaries with empathy
Is able to de-escalate situations calmly and confidently
Understands that behaviour is communication

At Inspire Growth, we try to work with young people where they are at rather than forcing change onto them. We value honesty, consistency, patience and mutual respect. We encourage young people to express themselves, explore their interests and gradually build healthier routines and decision-making skills with support.

Some behaviours can be challenging at times, however we approach situations conversationally and calmly rather than reactively. We focus on understanding, resolution and restoration over confrontation.

If you are someone who can remain calm, think independently, communicate well and genuinely wants to support young people to grow and develop, we would like to hear from you.

Experience:

Support work: 2 year preferred
Experience with children/young people preferred

Location:

Ilford / Redbridge

Licence/Certification:

Driving licence preferred but not essential

Pay: £13.00 per hour
