Experienced Sand Blaster / Surface Preparation Operative

Based in Leigh, Greater Manchester, Nationwide Travel Required

Join the Structures Group Team

Structures Group is a specialist contractor delivering restoration, conservation, structural repair and refurbishment projects across the UK. Due to continued growth, we're looking for an experienced Sand Blaster / Surface Preparation Operative to join our expanding team.

Working on a variety of commercial, industrial and heritage projects, you'll be responsible for preparing a wide range of surfaces using abrasive blasting techniques to the highest standards of quality and safety.

The Role

As part of our specialist team, your duties will include:

Abrasive blasting of steel, concrete, masonry and other substrates.
Preparing surfaces for protective coatings and repairs.
Setting up, operating and maintaining blasting equipment.
Working safely in accordance with site RAMS and company procedures.
Completing work to high quality standards while meeting programme requirements.
Working across projects throughout the UK, with occasional overnight stays.

What We're Looking For

Essential:

Previous experience as a sand blaster or abrasive blasting operative.
Full UK driving licence.
Valid CSCS Card.
Good understanding of surface preparation techniques.
Strong awareness of health and safety.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Willingness to travel and work away when required.

Desirable:

IPAF.
PASMA.
Confined Space or Face Fit certification.
Experience within construction, industrial maintenance or heritage restoration.
Knowledge of protective coatings and painting systems.
