Full job description

Overview
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Barista/Waitress to join our vibrant team. This role involves providing excellent customer service, preparing and serving beverages and food, and ensuring a welcoming environment for all patrons. The ideal candidate will have a passion for hospitality, strong organisational skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting. Previous experience in a similar role is preferred but not essential, as training will be provided. This position offers an engaging work environment where you can develop your skills in the food and beverage industry.

Responsibilities

Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold beverages, including coffee, tea, and speciality drinks, adhering to quality standards.
Take customer orders accurately and efficiently, ensuring prompt service.
Serve food items with professionalism and friendliness, assisting customers with menu selections when needed.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the work area, including counters, tables, and equipment.
Follow food safety regulations and hygiene standards at all times.
Handle cash transactions accurately and operate the POS system effectively.
Manage multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining excellent customer service.
Assist in restocking supplies and ensuring the café remains inviting for customers.

Qualifications

Previous barista experience or hospitality service background is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided for suitable candidates.
Knowledge of food safety standards is desirable.
Experience in serving food and beverages efficiently under pressure.
Basic maths skills for handling cash transactions accurately.
Strong organisational skills with excellent time management abilities.
Friendly demeanour with a professional attitude towards customers and colleagues.
Ability to work well within a team as well as independently when required.
