Full job description

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled individual to join our team as a Bakery Assistant. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in food production and preparation, with a passion for cooking and baking. This position requires attention to detail, adherence to food safety standards, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced bakery setting.

Shifts start at 2:30am and finish anywhere between 8am -11am, depending on the workload.

Responsibilities

Prepare and bake a variety of bread, pastries etc according to established recipes and standards
Assist in the daily operations of the kitchen, ensuring all food is produced efficiently and safely.
Assist in shaping pastries and loaves.
Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene throughout all food preparation processes.
Participate in seasonal menu planning and recipe development as required
Conduct regular checks on food storage areas to ensure compliance with safety regulations
Keep the kitchen area clean, organised, and well-maintained at all times

Requirements

Strong cooking skills with experience in baking being highly advantageous
Ability to work early shifts (2:30-3:00am starts) and weekends
Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices
Proven ability to work effectively in a fast paced environment.
Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail
Culinary qualifications or relevant certifications are preferred but not mandatory
A passion for food and commitment to delivering high-quality results

Pay: £12.75-£13.25 per hour
