Full job description

Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Sander to join our team in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing surfaces for finishing by sanding wood and other materials to achieve a smooth and polished appearance. This role requires attention to detail and the ability to work with various hand and power tools. A background in carpentry or related fields is advantageous.

Responsibilities

Operate sanding machines and hand tools to smooth surfaces of materials, ensuring high-quality finishes.
Read and interpret schematics and blueprints to understand project specifications.
Prepare surfaces for painting or finishing by removing imperfections, dust, and debris.
Collaborate with team members to build and assemble components as needed.
Maintain tools and equipment in good working order, performing routine maintenance as required.
Follow safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.

Skills

Proficient in using hand tools and power tools relevant to sanding and finishing tasks.
Ability to read schematics and blueprints effectively.
Experience in painting techniques is a plus.
Strong attention to detail with a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
Previous experience as a carpenter or in a similar role is desirable.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
