Full job description

Do you enjoy interacting with customers? Do you love helping others and working as a team? Then we are looking for you! We are seeking a motivated and friendly Retail Assistant to join our team at Pennine Garden Centre.

The purpose of this role is provide GREAT service to all our customers, whilst ensuring that we have exceptional displays and a well-stocked department.

We currently have one shift available:

Sunday: 10:30am-4:00pm

Key Responsibilities:

As a Retail Assistant, you will:

Deliver a warm welcome and provide excellent customer service at all times
Offer helpful product advice and recommend suitable solutions
Keep the shop floor well-stocked, clean, and visually appealing
Assist with deliveries, including unpacking, labelling, and stocking products
Create and maintain attractive merchandising displays
Support customers with deliveries and orders where needed
Work flexibly across departments to support the wider team
Follow health & safety guidelines to ensure a safe environment for all
Handle customer queries or concerns professionally, escalating where needed
Assist with stock control and stock counts

Skills Knowledge and Expertise:

The ideal Retail Assistant is someone who:

Ideally has previous customer service experience - but not essential.
Is willing to develop and learn new skills.
Is friendly, positive, sociable and approachable.
Is a strong team player.
Previous knowledge of retail sales principles and practices is desirable but not essential
Is flexible to work additional shifts and weekends if required
